But what is Prime Destinations all about and why did Callie go there? This is a great introductory short to the Starters series. I read the chapter sampler for Starters before reading this short and I love how it all fits together so far. I can't wait to read Starters and learn more about this world. I loved the little twist at the end.
Looking forward to more from this series. It was that short that I don't have almost any opinion about it. Jan 04, Kelly rated it really liked it.
I haven't read yet the others books in the series, but I really like the world that Lissa Price has created. I liked to read an extract with Michael's point of view. It left me wanting to know more about it and read the entire books! If you hadn't read yet the entire books in the series you can read this before, like I did.
It's very quick but really good. And maybe some day I'll read the series.
View 1 comment. Portrait of a Starter by Lissa Price is a novella in the Starters series. It is about Callie and Michael before the events of Starters. It is a very good novella because it is told from Michael's point of view. Mar 16, Sue Moro rated it it was ok.
Not much to this novella. I read it after reading Starters. It's told from Michael's point of view and takes place just before the events in Starters. Nothing particularly revealing to make this worth reading. Jump right to the main book and enjoy!

While this was a short read, and I haven't yet read the Starters series, I am very intrigued about it. I will hopefully get to them soon. I would love to know the background and what exactly happened and why things are the way they are.vialabtotabna.ga

I liked seeing Callie from Michael's point of view. Oh, another crazy, fast-paced, incredibly awesome novella! I love a good dystopian book and this sure looks like one. Price was clever by presenting this no Oh, another crazy, fast-paced, incredibly awesome novella! Price was clever by presenting this novella in the perspective of a male character, an important character, especially because the real action in it is endured by Callie, the protagonist, and the girl with whom he seems to share everything.
I believe that, this way, we get to understand Michael a little bit more and, by watching his reactions and fears regarding what Callie is secretly doing, we also have the chance to better acknowledge his feelings for her. The memory situation left me hanging on, thirsty for answers. The relationships and animosities between Starters and Enders also made me question a lot of things, and seek for more information. Thumbs up for this one!

He has been travelling with Callie and her little brother, Tyler. They look out for each other as life after the Spore Wars made their lives hard and miserable. It offers a glimpse of Michael's attraction and feelings for Callie as he draws Callie's portrait and follows her when she left to meet a friend near Prime Destinations.

I think it's cute the way Michael followed Callie to ensure her safety. After all, life is dangerous for all the Starters who doesn't have live grandparents. His jealousy towards the handsome young man whom Callie had met up with confirms that Michael has indeed feelings for her. Overall, I enjoyed reading this novella and I do hope there are more Michael and Callie scenes. I just ship them both.
I have nothing against Blake, but after knowing that the Old Man resided in Blake's body when their romance happened, it just disturbed me a little. Sep 18, Larissa rated it really liked it Shelves: own. When he first put pencil to paper it was to capture her likeness, to capture the essence of a girl he knew and trusted. On one hand, it makes a claim we might argue with. Secondly, the opening sentence is well constructed. The sentence structure draws our attention to this opposition. Interesting first lines of novels often begin with striking character actions that prepare the stage for further developments.
Jones, of the Manor Farm, had locked the hen-houses for the night, but was too drunk to remember to shut the pop-holes. Orwell shows his character making a mistake in the first line. Take the first line of the first book in J.
