It really depends on the blender, but for most blenders I would peel it first, unless you are pouring it through a fine mesh strainer. If you have a high powered blender like Vitamix or Blendtec, you will be able to blend it with the peel. I've used budget blenders my whole life and never had one that couldn't handle the peel. You don't need to spend all the hundreds of dollars for a Vitamax, you can buy a Smoothies are time savers. Just use your imagination and common sense and you'll get far with your smoothies.

I put it in two containers 2 servings the night before and stuck it in the freezer. In the morning I put it in the blender with a small amount of coconut water. Much better cold and with a little more sweet. Not sure if it will have the same outcome but still healthy start to the day. I don't know what it is but the taste of the cinnamon in there makes me wanna gag… If I make it again I'm definitely not using cinnamon!! Lori, You could try straining it through a fine mesh strainer or using a high powered blender if the texture was the problem. Adding more lemon juice might also help as well as omitting the cinnamon if you are not a fan.
